LORNE H. BLAIN 1920 - 2005 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Lorne Blain on Tuesday, July 5, 2005. He is survived by his children, Susan Herringer (Ed), Jim (Debby), David (Pat), Donald (Madelaine); and 11 wonderful grandchildren. Dad was a proud lifetime member of the Wartime Pilots Observers Association and delighted in reminiscing about his wartime adventures. His two overseas tours included hunting enemy submarines and the U604 attack featured in MacLeans magazine May 1, 1943. Dad was a strong supporter of the Legion and always enjoyed the camaraderie with the other veterans and members. He was also an avid hunter and outdoorsman who returned to his rural roots each fall on his annual hunting trips. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 215 at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 8 with a reception for friends and family immediately following the service. Interment will be at Milford Cemetery, Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. after which the family will host a reception for Dad's friends and family at the Christian Education Building in Glenboro. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Edward Blain and Lillian Howlett Blain; his sister Ilo (Bill) Burgess; and his brother Reg (Lillian) Blain. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund to honour Dad's memory are gratefully accepted. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
