KELVIN JEFFREY MILLEN September 9, 1984 - July 3, 2005 It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Kelvin Jeffrey Millen, who died tragically on Sunday, July 3, 2005. Truly, words cannot express the extent of this loss to Kelvin's family, to his relatives, and to his many friends who loved him. He leaves behind his parents, John and Josephine, three sisters, Alia, Faye, and Tessa. Kelvin was born in Thompson, MB, on September 9, 1984. He lived his first five years in Cross Lake, where he started school at the D.R. Hamilton School. Kelvin attended San Antonio School in Bissett, MB, from 1990 to 1997. He had many cherished memories from Bissett. He completed grade 9 at Acadia Junior High School in Winnipeg. He attended Fort Richmond Collegiate and graduated from Shaftesbury High School in 2004. Kelvin had recently been accepted at the University of Manitoba where he planned to attend in September. To his family Kelvin was a bright, shining star. He loved his family. He had a great sense of humour and he made his family laugh. Being the only boy in the family, he watched out for all three of his sisters. He had a quiet and humble manner. Kelvin enjoyed fine cooking and often prepared gourmet meals. He liked to take long walks, and he loved to go to the park with his soccer ball, often taking his sisters to join in. He was bright, thoughtful, and considerate, and he paid attention to details. Kelvin was trustworthy and honest, and he always avoided arguments. He was always helping in any way that he could. He loved woodworking and helping with the lawn and garden, and any home maintenance needed. Kelvin enjoyed reading, and he was a movie fanatic. He had an appreciation for all kinds of music. Kelvin loved nature and all creatures with a compassion for spiders. Kelvin had worked for the past ten months with A W Restaurants. We know that he enjoyed the staff and his work there. We would like to thank the many friends and relatives who have visited and phoned offering their comfort and support during this difficult time. The date of a quiet memorial service has yet to be determined. We realize that every moment of life is a gift to be savoured. Kelvin, we love you so much. You will be missed.

  • So much to say, and not enough courage to speak. Most people will never know the Kelvin "Millen" I knew. Kelvin Jeffrey Millen was my closest friend, my mentor, my teacher, and lastly and most importantly the older brother I never had. Kelvin leaves behind with me a void, a void that I am certain will never be filled. My prayers are forever with the Millen family. "...good people have to die to save the future..." - Posted by: A.
