HAZEL VERNA MARTIN October 14, 1922 - July 4, 2005 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer and with her family at her side, Hazel passed away at the Concordia Hospital on Monday, July 4, 2005 at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her two sons, Melvin (Dorothy) and Earl (Fern); her five grandchildren, Sandy (Don), Nancy (Gerald), Trevor (Lynn), Tracy, and Kim (Todd); her four great-grandchildren, Tom, Melanie, Monique, and Kayden; her brothers, Robert and Ken (Madeline); her sister-in-law Judy; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Beatrice; her brothers, Tom and Don; her sister Ruby; and her sister-in-law Julie. Hazel was born on October 14, 1922 in Rainy River, ON. She was a legion member for many years. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going on casino trips, and shopping. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 12:00 p.m. at the Windsor Park United Church, 162 Autumnwood Dr. with the Rev. Dr. Sharon Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined but donations may be made in Hazel's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9 or a charity of your choice.
