HENRY ERWIN SCHROEDER After a courageous battle with cancer it is with great sadness we announce the passing of Henry Erwin Schroeder of Souris, MB formerly of Gretna, MB at the Souris Hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2005. Erwin was the beloved husband of Ruth (Harder); and father of Darren (Dana) and Teri (Chris). He is lovingly remembered by six sisters and three brothers; also parents-in-law Pete and Anna Harder; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerhard and Tina Schroeder; brother George; brother-in-law Frank and nephew Patrick. He was born on February 18, 1954 in Altona, grew up and attended school in Blumenort, then Mennonite Collegiate Institute in Gretna. Shortly after his graduation he began his career with Canadian Pacific Railway where he made many lasting friendships. Erwin was a dedicated employee, and he continued to work until a month before his death. Erwin enjoyed quiet times with his family and friends. He was not a talkative man, preferring to listen to others and taking time to think before he spoke. He was respected for his quiet honesty and common sense. We will miss him. Funeral services have been held Wednesday, July 6 at Souris. Interment was at Blumenort Cemetery. We as a family would like to thank all who were able to attend in person and in spirit.
