LYNN WILLIAM KUZENKO Peacefully, with his family at his side, Lynn passed away July 6, 2005 at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, at the age of 63 years. Left to cherish him is his wife of 40 years, Eileen (Maksymetz); daughter Leslie Allard and husband Ken, grandchildren, Brenden and Kerri; son Chris and wife Tracy; daughter Kim Gulka and husband Todd; and sister Joan (Peter) Washchyshyn and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Ann Kuzenko. Lynn was loved and will be missed by a large circle of family and friends. Lynn was born in Souris, MB on December 26, 1941 and was later raised and educated in Brandon. He accepted his first teaching position in Grandview and eventually met Eileen in the Dauphin area. They married and moved to Ninette, where he worked at Pembina House. In 1973, he accepted a position with Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage, MB as the Residence Administrator, where he remained for 26 years until his retirement in 1999. Lynn enjoyed sports in any form. As a young man, he loved track and field events, baseball, golf, curling and fishing for trophy rainbow trout. He was one of the leading forces in the development of the Frontier School Midget Winterhawks Hockey team, and co-founder, with Russ Maksymetz, of the annual family golf tournament, the MaKooz. Lynn was a huge fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Edmonton Eskimos. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Gordon Dalling and the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital on Units 1, 2, 4 of the 5th floor and the ICU for their medical attention and kindness over the last several months. Prayers will be held on Sunday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. at Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel in Dauphin, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, July 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin. Interment will take place at the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made in Lynn's memory to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care). The Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Home in Dauphin is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
