MARIE GEORGETTE BLANCHE WALDO (nee LeBEL CLICHE) January 4, 1922- July 7, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Richard Cliche; daughter-in-law Roberta Jones (Casey); grandson Jeff Montgomery (Gerry); granddaughters, Adrienne Cameron (Chris), Lindsay Cliche, Shawna Jones and grandson Christopher Jones; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Mackenna and Malone Cliche; brother Maurice LeBel (Murielle) and sister Theresa Joyce. She spent four years serving for our country in the Second World War and was stationed in Washington, DC and she took her duties so seriously there that her family near knew what she did. She moved around Canada after the war and planted her roots in Winnipeg in 1966. She spent many years as a waitress at the Imperial Vets Legion. She was a dedicated grandmother and enjoyed helping raise all her grandchildren. She will be remembered most for her generous spirit, short temper, fabulous baking and cooking and strange gift giving. We would like to thank all the staff at the Tache Place for their excellent care over the past two years and also the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for making her last few days comfortable. A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Anglican Church at 1567 William Ave. West on Monday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In memory of Marie donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave. @ Henderson Hwy. 668-3151

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Rick, I am very sorry for your loss. It sounds like she was a wonderful mother to you, you were very fortunate she helped to raise your children. Too bad she was not there to raise her own children. She must have had alzheimers for the last 48 years, because it seems she has forgotten Donna, Butch, Cynthia and myself (your sisters and brother). As you can probably tell, I carry one of her qualities, "a short temper". Sincerely, "Your Sister" Nancy - Posted by: Nancy Marie Cliche Minito (Family) on: Jul 10, 2005
