She is also survived by her six nieces and nephews, Justin Armstrong, Kathryn Armstrong, Christopher Armstrong, Casey Wunsch, Hilary Armstrong and Hailey Wunsch; and numerous friends and relatives. Lorae was predeceased by her eldest brother, William Tav McIntosh Armstrong of Montana, in July of 2004. Lorae was born in Glen Cove and grew up in Oyster Bay, both in Long Island, New York and for the last 30 years she resided at various points in southern Manitoba, with the last 16 years in several different homes in the Fort Rouge area of Winnipeg. Lorae worked for many years as a massage therapist, counsellor and healing arts practitioner in many different forms. She loved working with essential oils and always worked with alternative and natural healing therapies. Lorae was also a highly gifted artist and loved to work primarily with watercolour painting and pen and ink drawings. She loved the outdoors and was a very gifted cook. Lorae was the type of person that loved to try new things and was exceptional at almost everything she tried. In her last years of life, she reached out and touched the lives of everyone she met, even in a simple hello . She became very humble during her illness and she simply wanted to give love, which she did right to the very end. Lorae was an awesomely striking individual. We love her so. A Celebration of Lorae's Life will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the Centre For Conscious Living Hall, 625 Spruce St. Lorae will return to her parents' home in Tupper Lake, New York, a place of great beauty and joy for her as she grew up. Special thanks to family, friends, neighbours and the community of Winnipeg, in her efforts to recover and heal from her illness. You are all in our hearts as you have played a role in bringing more quality to the time we shared with her .
