Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN A. (BUCK) HARDER October 3, 1927 - July 8, 2005 Peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital, John A. (Buck) Harder passed away. Leaving to mourn his passing are his wife Mary; daughters, Gloria Gunter (Patrick), Debbie Smith (Jim) and Kathy Kruger (Barry); as well as grandchildren, Colin and Christina. He was predeceased by his mother and father, as well as his brother Phil and sister Sadie. He is survived by his sister-in-law Ethel. John worked for Motorways, Lowbed Haulers, and as a General Manager of Sherbrook Motors for many years. After retiring in 1991, Buck took up printing, a trade that he had learned as a young man many years earlier. He enjoyed this craft working from his home. Some of the times he enjoyed the most were the years at the cottage at Hillside Beach. Mary and he spent the entire summers there. He really enjoyed puttering around there, whether it was replacing deck boards, sweeping cobwebs off the screens every morning or painting the cottage. During this time, his children and their spouses enjoyed many weekends out there with him and Mary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 1:00 p.m. at Thomson In The Park , 1291 McGillivray. Viewing will be one half hour prior to service. The family would like to thank the nurses on the 6th Floor of St. Boniface for their compassionate care during the last days of his life.
