Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELLEN CATHERINE KITSON (nee MURPHY) August 16, 1953 - July 9, 2005 After a lengthy battle with diabetes resulting in renal failure and other complications, Ellen passed away peacefully in St. Boniface Hospital with her son Robert at her bedside. Ellen was born on August 16, 1953 in Conception Harbour, NF, one of 11 children born to Aaron and Susanna Murphy. The family moved to Toronto, ON in 1964, where her father was employed with Ontario Hydro until his retirement. Ellen, her husband William and their young son Robert settled in Winnipeg in 1976, where she was a stay at home mom and later employed at 7-11 (Talbot and Watt). She was known throughout Elmwood by countless adults and children alike as the 7-11 lady . Ellen's favourite past-time was bingo and only ceased, as her health worsened. For many years Ellen was involved in her son's sports activities at Kelvin Community Centre. Ellen enjoyed many summers camping and fishing throughout Manitoba. Ellen was predeceased by her mother Susanna Murphy and brother Kevin. She is survived by her father Aaron Murphy; husband William; son Robert; sisters, Jean, Irene, Mary, Mercedes, Liz, Susie; and brothers, Aaron, Bill, Cyril and their extended families. Special thanks to St. Boniface Hospital P.D. unit, Dr. Steven Henry, Winnipeg Heath Authority, especially R.N. Marlene, homecare worker Cindy and case co-ordinator Melanie. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to family friend Rick Bernard who worked tirelessly to bring Ellen quality of life through the most difficult of times. Prayer service will be held on Monday, July 11, 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2:00 p.m. at St. Gerard Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster St. with Fr. Pierre Wood, O.F.M., Cap. officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ellen's memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
