Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM ALFRED BEARDY SR. January 14, 1926 - July 10, 2005 William Alfred Beardy Sr. was born on January 14, 1926 in Grand Rapids, MB. William enjoyed being with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. William passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, July 10, 2005 at his residence in Grand Rapids, MB at the age of 79 years. William is survived by his sons, Leonard (Nellie) Beardy, Peter (Mary) Beardy, Roland (Katie) Beardy, Kevin (Verla) Beardy and William (Pamela) Beardy Jr.; daughter Molly (Howard) Jobb; and special daughter Doris (Joey) Ballantyne; sisters, Agnes Thomas, Nellie (Ben) Cook, Vivian Easter and Hilda Shaw; brother-in-law Absolom Cook; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Bill was predeceased by his wife Mary Beardy; daughters, Shirley Beardy and Mae Scott; sons, Kenneth Beardy and Bernard Beardy; sisters, Gertie Smith and Eva Cook; brothers, Gideon Beardy, Gordon Beardy and George Beardy; parents, William and Christine Beardy; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hardisty and Catherine Ballantyne; brothers-in-law, Gerry Shaw, Riley Easter, Gordie Thomas, Joseph Ballantyne; sisters-in-law, Thelma Ballantyne and Flora Packo. William (Bill) loved to stay at home and enjoy company with people and family. He also enjoyed listening to music, especially fiddling music. He loved listening to his granddaughter Brittany play the fiddle for him. In his younger days, Bill was a dog musher and competed in the dog races at The Pas Trappers Festival. In his early years, Bill was a commercial fisherman and trapper, he also loved his hunting. Bill also worked for Manitoba Hydro for 25 years. He was a hard working man who provided for his family. The family would like to thank the home maker and daughter-in-law Katie Beardy. We would also like to thank the Grand Rapids chief and council. Wake services will be held on Tuesday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m. Wake services will be held at William's residence, Grand Rapids. Prior to the funeral service viewing will be held at his residence at 9:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 14 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. James Church, Grand Rapids with Rev.
