Date of Passing: Jul 09, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK MORRIS STONEHAM On Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Grace Hospital, Frank Stoneham passed away at the age of 68 years. Frank was born February 1, 1937. He is survived by his teenage sweetheart, Evelyn whom he married June 26, 1959. Frank leaves to mourn his daughters, Debbie (Tim) and Brenda; and his son Brian (Cherie); and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Sabrina and Holly. Frank was a dedicated employee of the City of Winnipeg for 31 years. At age 57 he retired as the Superintendent of Collection of Water and Waste. Never one to slow down upon retirement, Frank began volunteering for Meals on Wheels and canvassing for Heart and Stroke, Cancer, Kidney, Diabetes and the Salvation Army organizations. One of Frank's greatest loves in life was travelling. He and Evelyn visited many countries world wide and came back with a T-shirt from everywhere. They loved travelling and camping in their RV, south for the winter to Texas and north for the summer to Hecla where Frank and Evelyn loved to fish. Frank really enjoyed his good times and good friends he met while playing baseball with the Charleswood Seniors and curling with the Assiniboine Memorial Seniors. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Nothing made Grandpa happier than spending time with his grandkids, hours on end. What we will miss most about Dad is his smile, happiness and the way he liked to joke around and tease. He had a nickname for everyone and everything. Frank received countless phone calls for advice and help to fix things. His kids and friends will miss him for always being there. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Grace Hospital staff for their compassionate care and consideration. A special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and CancerCare Manitoba. A celebration of Dad's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14 at Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Grace Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
