REV. LEONARD H. WURCH Peacefully, with his family at his side, Dad passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the age of 82. His wife Dorothy, who as he wrote, was 'my wife-lover and best friend of 40 years and 8 months' predeceased Leonard in 1991. Leonard is survived by his children, in whom he invested a lifetime of love and eternal values, son Doug (Maureen), daughter Sandra (Don Friesen), son Don (Connie), and son Brian (Charisse). His greatest joy in recent years came from his six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Melissa), Jordan, Kayla, Katie, Jesse, and Josiah, his foster grandchildren, Destiny and Willow, as well as one great-grandson Landon. Leonard also leaves to mourn his brothers, George (Marie), Irvin (Marion), and sisters, Alice Boss, Lil (Nelson Storsley), Rose Kelbert, Edna Williams, Velma (Gerhard Wittmeier), Norma (Eric Nicholson), and Sadie (Cecil Dewey) as well as numerous nephews and nieces. His parents Adolf and Wanda and brothers-in-law, Herman Boss and Edward Kelbert predeceased Leonard. Leonard was born in St. Ouens, MB on March 24, 1923 and as Dad often told the story 'in a winter blizzard'. He married Dorothy Violet Esther Anderson on June 23, 1950 and Dorothy's family was always close to him in family events and celebrations. Dad attended Bible College in St. Paul, MN after leaving the farm in St. Ouens, and his life passion and work became spreading the goodness and love of Jesus Christ. He and his wife pastored and served in churches in St. Ouens and Brandon, MB for 26 years. At the same time Dad established a successful plastering and stucco business, which he continued until retirement. This was valuable in teaching his boys and daughter the value of 'working' for a living. Dad often talked about the best of both worlds and so his bible, his violin, fishing rod and pails for picking berries were often in his truck ready for action. Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 14 between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 15 at Bethel Community Church, 430 Lakewood Blvd., an additional viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. Ouens Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital and the many visitors who visited with him in the last weeks. If so desired, donations in Dad's memory can be made to Bethel Community Church at 430 Lakewood Blvd. Bless the Lord O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits. Psa. 103:1-2 Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
