JEAN KOSACK (nee WAYTIUK) Peacefully, Jean Kosack, aged 88 years of Selkirk, MB, widow of the late Dave Kosack, went to meet her maker on July 12, 2005. Jean was born on February 3, 1917 to Alex and Mary Waytiuk, in Walkleyburg, MB. She married Dmetro David Kosack on November 27, 1937. They farmed in St. Peter's until 1958 when they moved to Selkirk. Jean loved life and working with other people. She belonged to the St. John's Ambulance, Holy Eucharist Ladies Auxiliary, the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Kazoo Band, and the Gordon Howard Centre. Jean never said no to baking bread, cakes or making sandwiches when someone was in need. She loved and took pride in her garden and flowers, always wanting to be the first one to have onions and lettuce. Sunday dinners were a must, always with ten or more and food to feed thirty. She never passed up an opportunity to have a gang in, birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, and the VLT's . She especially enjoyed going out for lunch or supper with her family. She was especially proud of her grandson Tony. Jean loved travelling with her family especially to British Columbia to visit with family. She has seen all of Canada, United States, Alaska, and Mexico. Hundreds of pictures bring back memories of Dave and Jean's travels together. Jean leaves to mourn her son Donald; daughter Evelyn Schinkel (Reinhardt); and grandson Tony; numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, friends, and special friend Joe. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, husband David (2004), parents Alex and Mary, brothers Harry, Max, Peter, and sisters Mary, Anne and Nellie. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Lutheran Church of Good Shepherd, Selkirk, MB. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 15 at 3:00 p.m. in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Saude officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the congregation. A private burial service will take place at a later date. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay, You faced your task with courage, You spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, Come with Me , So when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Rest in Peace VICHNAYA PAM' YAT Always remembered and always loved Mom Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
