WILLIAM LEE
Born: Jun 26, 1919
Date of Passing: Jul 11, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM LEE It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill on July 11, 2005, husband of Freda, who predeceased him in March, 2003 after nigh on 60 years of marriage. Dad will be greatly missed by his two sons and their families, Tony, Sheila and Adrienne of Winnipeg and Arthur, Janice and Jennifer of Vancouver. He was born on June 26, 1919 in Aberdeen, Scotland and on retirement from a career in the insurance industry, moved with Mum to Winnipeg, Canada to be reunited with his family. In his younger day, Bill was an enthusiastic, all-round sportsman and played cricket well into his fifties. He was a genial, popular and sociable person and one of a wartime generation who sacrificed a large part of his youth so we could enjoy an unencumbered future. As a local councillor, secretary of the Masonic Lodge and in his capacity as chairman of the West Aberdeenshire Liberal Party he gave his adopted community of Kintore, Scotland many years of loyal service for which he was held in the highest regard. He would be the first one to say that he had a good innings and we celebrate his life in the knowledge that it was lived to the fullest. Thanks to everyone at the The Westhaven and Golden West Centennial Lodge for truly caring for him over the past two years. At Bill's request a private family memorial will take place at a future date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
