JOHN WARKENTIN May 31, 1944 - July 13, 2005 Peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 John Warkentin at the age of 61 passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, with his beloved wife Margaret, brother Albert, and Pastor Terry Kaufman at his side. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Margaret of 37 years and his son Kevin; two brothers, Ed (Susan) Warkentin from Winkler, Albert (Fran) Warkentin from Morden and many other extended family members and friends. John enjoyed his employment at the Steinbach Credit Union for the past 14 years. Previously John was employed at the Winkler Credit Union for 13 years. John's quiet strength, grateful heart and strong faith encouraged everyone who new him. A celebration of John's life will be held on Monday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church, 360 McKenzie Ave., Steinbach, MB with interment at Winkler Cemetery. Viewing will take place on Sunday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m. with devotional at 7:30 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB. Margaret and Kevin would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Hospital for the excellent care received during his stay. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Duerksen.
