Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM WACHTENDORF On Wednesday, July 13, 2005, William Wachtendorf, aged 79, died peacefully at his home on the farm near Niverville. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Minnie; children, Reg (Lora), Darl (Bruce), Cheryl (Paul), and Tricia (David); precious grandchildren, Odin, Megan, Evan, Shannon, Amy, and Brett; sister Mary; sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Mary; and many family members and friends here and abroad. Bill was predeceased by his treasured son Chad and brother Fred. Bill took over his father's farm in 1949. Together with his sons he ran a mixed grain and hog farm, and for many years was in the sugar beet industry. As a younger man, he also served for 20 years as police constable in the Hanover Municipality. He will be forever remembered for his commitment to the community, devotion to his family, lively hog roast parties, hobby buffalo farm, and love of the land. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 17, 3:00 p.m. at the 4th Avenue Bible Church, Niverville, MB. Interment to follow at the Niverville Main Street Cemetery. Bill was like a second father to me as I spent a great deal of my younger years at their home. He was always a kind man who seemed very in touch with the younger set and was always the first to give someone a break.
