JO-ANN ISABEL CRAWFORD It is with sadness that we announce that, with her children and parents by her side, Jo-Ann Isabel Crawford (nee Henley) passed away on July 16, 2005. Jo-Ann's memory will be cherished by her children, Julie (Jake) and Elizabeth (Mark); her parents, Russell and Isabel Henley; and grandchildren, Brett, Liam, Braden, Madison and Natasha. Jo-Ann is also survived by her brothers, Stuart (Yousra) and Chris (Paula) Henley. Jo-Ann was born in Newmarket, ON on February 23, 1952. As a child of a military family Jo-Ann had many happy memories of postings in Canada and Europe. Her family eventually settled in Winnipeg. Jo-Ann was diagnosed with MS in her late twenties. She faced this challenge with courage. She was very proud of the fact that, despite her disability, she was able to attain her diploma in criminology and work as a volunteer in the Manitoba Court System. Jo-Ann was a strong force in life who profoundly effected those around her. She didn't mince words and you knew exactly where she stood on an issue. She had a wonderful sense of humour and had shared much laughter with her devoted mother and best friend Isabel. Jo-Ann was a resident of Deer Lodge Centre for the last two years. Her family deeply appreciates the care and kindness shown by nurses, physicians and other care givers in the facility.
