BARRY C. BUCHANAN August 18, 1931 - July 15, 2005 Barry passed away suddenly into the hands of the Lord at Selkirk and District Hospital. Mourning his great loss is his wife Fern; his sons Grant, Mark and Shane; daughter-in-law Carla; step children, Karen, Michelle, Len and Diane; grandchildren which he was so proud of Kahla, Chloe, Kiefer and Fern's 9 grandchildren. He is survived by his brother John and wife Sandy of Vancouver Island, sisters Olive and Joy of Calgary; sisters-in-law Laura and Madeleine; brothers-in-law Mel Schumaker of California and Ray Spencer also many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his first wife Adele; mother and father Alec and Inga; brothers Gordon, Rodney and Marcel; sisters Norah, Joycelyne and Hope. Barry was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, moved to Prince Albert then onto Winnipeg, where he retired from the Winnipeg Police Force after 33 years of service. Barry had been active in curling at one time but golfing was his game. He was a very knowledgeable person, read a lot and was a very kind man. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Flowers are declined, but if you may so wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Cancer Society.
