LEO SCHMIDT 1952 - 2005 Loved as a husband. Loved as a father. Loved as a friend. Loved as a brother. Loved. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Leo Schmidt on July 18, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital. Born in Greenridge, MB, the youngest of eight siblings, he attended school in Dominion City and Emerson before moving to Winnipeg. He was self-employed for most of his working years, operating a contracting and roofing company, often working with his sons. He and his wife Jan enjoyed many winter holidays in Mexico where they made many new friends. Leo loved his family, his garden and the outdoors. And now while his body rests, his spirit is free to soar. He is survived by Janice, his devoted wife of 30 years, their two sons, Clint and Paul and Paul's partner Tracy and her daughter Sierra. Predeceased by his parents, Olga and Julius, he is also survived by his siblings, Elsie, Florence (Bob), Clarence (Jan), Eileen (Clayton), Ray (Val), Doreen (John), Albert (Annie-Marie) and Bill Berg. Also mourning his loss are parents-in-law, Bev and George Baker, brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Abbi, Ian and Kim, Brenda and Bruce as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22 at 3:00 p.m. at Windsor Park United, 1062 Autumnwood Dr. If friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
