ISABEL GAETANNE FORREST (nee CLARK) September 1, 1917 - July 17, 2005 Mom slipped away, peacefully, at Fred Douglas Lodge after a short stay of eight weeks. She was previously a resident of Heritage Lodge for 11 months. Left to mourn is one daughter, Gloria, and husband Ronald Gray. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Forrest in August of 2002. She was also predeceased by her parents, James Scott Clark and Alexandria Jean Clark and her only brother James Thomas Clark. Mom was born in Montreal, PQ but moved to Winnipeg at a very young age. She attended General Wolfe and Daniel MacIntyre School. She first worked for Eaton's and later worked as a bookkeeper for Monarch Beauty Supplies before staying at home to raise her only daughter. Mom loved to sew, knit and crochet. Many a friend has some of Mom's handiwork in their homes. Her favourite hobby was crocheting. It seems, afghans were provided for every friend to curl up with. She was also an expert in needlepoint. She loved reading and nature. She especially loved fishing, feeding her birds and chipmunks at the family cottage on Eleanor Lake for nearly 50 years. We thank the staff at Heritage Lodge and Fred Douglas Lodge who cared for her during the last year of her life. Their kindness, compassion and tender care helped buoy her up in her final months. She suffered with many illnesses, with quiet dignity. Isabel never let on how much pain she was enduring. We would also like to thank Thelma McRae and Jim Fraser for their ongoing support. A time of sharing memories of Isabel will be held from 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 21 at Neil Bardal Inc. Cremation Services, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., across from Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
