Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPHINE MARIA DECOTEAU (nee BENJAMIN) On July 18, 2005 surrounded by her family, Josephine Maria DeCoteau passed away, peacefully at Riverview Health Centre CD1 at the age of 94 years. Josephine, fondly referred to by all as My-Amma leaves to mourn her only daughter Drin Jones; her son-in-law Matthew Jones; her three grandchildren, Marsha, Colin and Tyson; her sister Bernadette Ross of Tampa, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews abroad. My-Amma was born in Dominica in the Caribbean, January 30, 1911 and immigrated to Canada in 1989 to be close to her daughter and family. In the over 15 years of living in Winnipeg, My-Amma has been an important influence on her extended family, the Jones' and close friends here in Winnipeg. My-Amma has resided at Riverview Health Centre for the last three years. Drin and her family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible staff of Riverview's CD1. Thank you for caring for My-Amma as though she was your own. Thank you for your support, patience and kindness. We could have always counted on you as we can with family. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21 at St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre, for the benefit of CD1, 1 Morley Pl., Winnipeg, MB.
