HARRIET (HATTIE) MAYBELLE THOMPSON March 22, 1957 - July 15, 2005 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Harriet (Hattie) Maybelle Thompson on July 15, 2005 at the age of 48 years. Hattie leaves to mourn her father William Rose; her sisters, Juliet Sutherland (Wally) and Betty Anne Thompson (nee Rose); her foster brothers and sisters, Marlene Feenstra of Winnipeg, Sheila (Jan) Wolynski of St. Andrew's, Doris (Ken) Sinclair, Walter (Olive) McCorrister, Morris (Annette) McCorrister and Harvey McCorrister all of Peguis, Robert McCorrister of Winnipeg, Bernice (Arthur) Macholz of Hodgson and Rita McKenzie of Wanipigow, MB; her special friend Ernie Walker; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Hattie was predeceased by her mother Katherine Margaret Thompson; her foster parents, George and Mary McCorrister, who brought her up from the age of one and one half years. They loved Hattie and Rita like their own; she was also predeceased by her foster brothers, Jason McCorrister and Wilfred (Audrey) McCorrister; her brother Gerald; her sister Lillian; and by her nephew Lawrence Hallett. Harriet was born in Peguis on March 22, 1957 and attended Peguis Central School. She loved sports, especially watching hockey on television. She was a good foster daughter to Mom and Dad (George and Mary McCorrister) and great company watching hockey with Dad. Harriet loved music and carried a radio with head phones wherever she went. She also loved her smokes , everyone knows that. Hattie was a kind, loving and helpful person to Mom and Dad. When Mom died, her last words were, What will happen to Hattie and Rita? A wake service will be held on Thursday, July 21 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Peguis Church, Peguis, MB, with Pastor Glen Cochrane officiating.
