Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARENCE CAMSELL BRIGHT Clarence ( Clare / CB ) was taken home to be with his beloved wife Isabel, suddenly on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the age of 80. Born in Winnipeg on May 31, 1925, Clarence grew up here and attended Kelvin High School. In 1942 he left school to begin work with CNR to help support his family. Through hard work and dedication he quickly worked his way up the ranks through various clerical and supervisory positions to management. In 1957, Clarence was transferred to Montreal with his wife Isabel and two children, Judy and Jim. While there, he held various positions, including Manager Customer Catering, System Manager Employee Relations and System Manager On-Board Services. The family lived in St. Eustache, QC, for 21 years, during which time Clarence was active in civic affairs and volunteer work, including Sunday School Superintendent, Cub Master, soccer coach and President of the Home School Assoc. In 1978 Clarence and Isabel returned to Winnipeg where Clarence helped open the regional offices for newly incorporated VIA Rail, in his capacity as Manager Administration Planning. He completed his career with CNR/VIA Rail in 1983 as Regional Manager, Human Resources, and went on to enjoy retirement with is wife in Winnipeg. Clare lovingly cared for his beloved Isabel for seven years following her stroke in 1996, until her death in April 2003. His final years were spent with many new friends at The Waverley where he was always busy with a variety of activities. Clarence was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is predeceased by his wife Isabel; his mother Ethel Mary (Camsell); father Albert; brothers, John and Bill and sister Lois (Cameron). Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Judy (Mark) Lynch of Vancouver; son Jim (Cathy) Bright of Montreal and grandchildren, Chris and Mike Cochand and Jeff and Jillian Bright. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the WRHA Home Care and Nursing staff as well as the staff at The Waverley for all their kindness to CB. A memorial service will be held at Thomson In the Park on Saturday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phil Barnett officiating, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation in memory of Clarence may be made to The Heart Stroke Foundation - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
