JOHN FAYKES It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Faykes, on Tuesday, July 19, 2005, at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn, his wife Sadie, of 55 years; daughter Cherylee; daughter-in-law Beverley; grandchildren, Chris, Johnathan, Lynnette, Darrell and Mark; great-grandson Jacob; sister-in-law Muriel; and family friend David. John was predeceased by his only son Wally; parents, Peter and Lena; brothers, Fred, George, Nick, Pat, Matt and Bill; sisters, Doreen and Kay; and his little dog Danny. Dad was a man of few words. He was a devoted family man that loved a family gathering and a good game of crib. In keeping with Dad's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held at this time. Our family would like to express their thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Victoria General Hospital for the care Dad was given during his stay there. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Think of you often grandpa. I miss the visits we use to have, from helping in the garden, to going strawberry picking to fixing the lights are not blinking he would say. Then after a few mins I had them fixed, at which time he would give me a dollar coin. We do miss u and I am happy that you, grandma, dad n danny r together once again.
