TED HYKAWAY It is with deep sadness and a tremendous sense of loss that we announce the passing of Ted Hykaway at the age of 63, July 21, 2005 at Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, AB. Ted is survived by his wife Molly; son Trevor (Marissa); daughters, Susan, grandsons, Cody and Dustin; Cindy, grandsons, Jace and Tyler; sister Karen and children, Jennifer and Michael; brother Jack and daughter Kristine. He also leaves to mourn his passing numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends. Ted was predeceased by father Fred and mother Kathleen and many sisters and brothers-in-law. Ted was born and raised in Winnipeg but his work took him to many cities across Canada. Eventually he settled in Edmonton at 10215-161 St., T5P 3J2, where he resided for the past 20 years. Ted enjoyed working with his hands and was especially good at using recycled materials to make new useful items. He was an avid reader his entire life. Mysteries and science fiction were his favourites. Ted enjoyed the lakes in Alberta and Saskatchewan and always looked forward to his yearly fishing trip with Molly. Ted was a genuinely kind and generous man who cared about the people around him. Often known as an idea man, Ted knew how to make things happen. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. At his request, cremation has taken place in Edmonton. A celebration of Ted's life will be held at a gathering for family and friends, at his sister's home at 247 Arthur Wright Cres., Winnipeg, MB, on Sunday, July 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
