OLGA DILAY
Born: Apr 27, 1916
Date of Passing: Jul 18, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA DILAY In loving memory of our Mother and Baba who passed away on July 18, 2005 at the age of 89. She was born on April 27, 1916 in the Ukraine. She came to Canada in September 1948 with her husband, Anthony. They shared six beautiful children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Olga and Anthony were married for 57 years. The love they shared was truly amazing! She had an Old Country sense of humour. She loved to sing, dance, play cards and she loved to let us nibble on her chin! Many times in our lives, we have questioned whether or not God really exists. But we believe he really does, otherwise how could we have been blessed with his beautiful angel that we have called mom and baba for so many years. This wonderful woman who had such a big heart, gave herself to everything and everyone she loved. She gave of everything she had, her time, love, compassion, understanding, wit, charm and patience. She had a big enough heart to have a place in it for everyone. Every time we think of her, we cannot help but smile. With everything that she had endured, all of her hardships and losses, she still found it within herself to give even more love and happiness to all of her family and friends. She went the extra ten miles for others and put everyone else before herself. Our mother and baba was a woman who loved beautiful things. Not material items, but natural beauty. Which is why besides being right beside her soul mate, Anthony, who she loved most, her favourite place to be was in her gardens. She took great pride in her gardens and spent countless hours giving them love, as she did to her family and it showed. Every time we would approach the yard, it reminded us of a floral shop, with its beautiful array of flowers and aromas. She didn't stop here. If you got a view of the backyard, you would see this wonderfully huge vegetable garden. These vegetables grew under her and with Gods guidance, all of which she shared with everyone. All of the hours, days, and nights she spent working in the garden; cleaning the vegetables, including them in meals, preserving them in jars, offering them to take home with us. As a true Ukrainian woman, she always had food on the table and in your mouth and that would explain our few extra pounds. She also took great pride in making full course meals for all of our family pets. This is the kind of love and selfless giving that will always stay in our hearts. These are the reasons that we say God blessed us with our very own angel. Baba loved as a wife, loved as a mother, loved as a grandmother. Baba will always be loved. She will be deeply missed but what she left with each of us will be cherished forever! Love always and forever, Steve, Lil, Irene, Michael, Nadia, Tanya, Raymond, Darlene, Lisa, Cheyenne, Trevor, Deborah, Alex, Shayna, Matthaeus and Stephen.
