Born on July 14, 1944, in Winnipeg, Bob was part of an extended family and adored by his maternal grandparents, David and Christina (Nana) Burns and paternal grandmother Edna (Mumo) Ball. He attended Sir John Franklin, J. B. Mitchell and Kelvin High schools as well as the University of Winnipeg Collegiate. Bob possessed a rare eye for detail that he applied in all aspects of his life, from his love of cooking, to his successful careers in retail, marketing, and his true calling, home renovation. Bob will be remembered for his love of life, passion for family and friends and the uncompromising way in which he maintained and enriched those relationships. His timely advice and wise counsel were sought by many for whom he was a mentor. In his last days he fought valiantly against illness, again demonstrating the strength of character that touched the lives of so many around him. Bob was laid to rest at a private family burial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery on July 16. He will be lovingly remembered by family and friends at private memorial observances.
