Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE ROSS (nee TAYLOR) It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Irene Ross, aged 83 years, on July 20, 2005. Irene's family meant everything to her. She surrounded us with love and protection. All our accomplishments, no matter how small, were a great source of pride to her. She leaves her adored daughters, Noni McMillan and Beverley Ross-Etkin; cherished grandchildren, Chris and Sarah McMillan, Kelly and Maressa Etkin and sons-in-law, Rick McMillan and Jack Etkin. Irene is survived by her sister Gladys Tritter and Irene's life long friend Kin Scott. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Doug Ross, on whose birthday she died. Fun-loving, outgoing, Irene lived a full and vibrant life. She has a deep pride in Winnipeg and was a staunch supporter of the Blue Bombers and the Jets. Active throughout her life, Irene enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities in her youth, but especially canoeing on the Red River. She, Doug and friends spent many happy times paddling and camping. In later years she travelled throughout North America and Europe. She had a stack of photo albums of her adventures. After retiring from the City of Winnipeg's Department of Vital Statistics, Irene took bus trips to casinos to play the slots. When at home, as long as there were no sports events on tv, she was most comfortable curling up with a book while listening to music. Our sincere thanks to Dr. R. Hayward and staff for their compassionate assistance. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd - 925-1120
