MAY E. CANNON Peacefully, on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at the Central Park Lodge, May passed away at the age of 96 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her sisters, Vera and Doris; brother Norman (Jackie); and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. May was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Emily; brother Gilbert; and sister Hilda. May was born in East Kildonan in 1909 and was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church for many years. She was employed at Eaton's Mail Order for 48 years, retiring in 1974. After her retirement from Eaton's, she worked at the Bus Depot restaurant. In later years, May enjoyed the Thursday afternoons at the CNIB social club where she met and made many friends. The last three years, May resided in Central Park Lodge, enjoying all the activities, her favourite being Bingo and having fun with the recreation staff. May's graveside service will take place on Wednesday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. For those wishing to attend, please meet at the cemetery entrance 15 minutes prior to the service. Our family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Central Park Lodge and special thanks to Judy and Marguerite for all their kindness and loving care. She was everyone's Auntie May and will be missed by all. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in May's memory may be made to CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I have many memories of Auntie May. She was always smiling at every family gathering we had and always had a story or a funny joke to share. We all missed her at the ones she wasn't able to attend for the last few years. They weren't the same without her. We will miss you. - Posted by: Sandy Olien (Family) on: Jul 25, 2005
