Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Effie worked on the side for R.A. Gardiner Ltd. After I bought the company from Bob Gardiner, Effie continued working for me, until I sold the company a couple of years later. One day, Effie and I were discussing a problem that we were having in the shipping department, Effie had some good suggestions, We were standing next to a forklift machine that was connected to a power outlet charging up the large batteries. All of a sudden Effie went to light up a cigarette, I shouted "stop'. Effie looked at me and then realized that the fumes from the charging batteries could be highly explosive or flamable. Effie said "thanks I should have known better." I enjoyed Effies stories, and he had a lot of them. Don Montgomery - Posted by: DON MONTGOMERY (EMPLOYER AND FRIEND) on: Sep 16, 2016
