DAMIAN (DUNC) A. FOUGERE The family of Damian Dunc Fougere announce his peaceful passing. Damian was born in Antigonish County, NS, January 30, 1924, a child in a family of 15 children. He left home for Halifax at the age of 17 to enlist in the RCAF. He met his wife Olga, a W.R.E.N. in the Navy. They married in 1946 in Halifax where Rick, Gail, and Greg were born. They moved out to Manitoba where Damian worked with Safeway and later Co-op. He raised his family in East Kildonan where Garnet, Marie, Joseph and Susan were born. Damian was predeceased by his son Joseph and is survived by his wife Olga and above named children. Damian's confident and gentle character was passed on to his 15 grandchildren. Family was top priority with Dad and he kept close tabs on all his grandchildren and children's spouses. Damian was very concerned with making everything easy for everyone by facing his illness with courage and his strong spiritual beliefs. He stayed alert and active almost to the final hours of his life, caring for his family. A service will take place at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. on Tuesday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens will follow.
