HAZEL LILLIAN SMITH (GREEN)
Born: Jun 11, 1923
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAZEL LILLIAN SMITH (nee GREEN) Hazel Lillian Smith (nee Green), born in Beulah, MB on June 11, 1923. Passed away peacefully in Parksville, BC surrounded by loving family members; husband George; daughters Karen and Cindy, and grandson Richard. Hazel is also survived by son Kenneth; grand daughters Kaileigh and Ashley, grandson Jason, great grandson Tayson; brothers Don and Ken Green, sisters Elizabeth Stowe and Marian Carr. Hazel and George opened up their hearts and home for numerous foster children over a period of many years. After raising her family, mother returned to University, earned her Bachelor of Education Degree and started for a career of teaching kindergarten in the Charleswood School District. There will be a family celebration of her life at their home in Parksville. BC on July 26 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the World Wildlife Fund, of which Hazel was a great supporter: World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty-Forth Street N.W, P.O. Box 97180, Washington, D.C. 20090-7180.

I met you and Mr. Smith when my brother, Gary Wasnick, passed away in 1997. He was one of the foster children you so lovingly took in. Thank you so much for your support then and for the support and encouragement you gave me while I was in school. I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Smith for the few meetings we had. Thank-you for inviting myself and my daughters' into your home in Headingley at the time of my loss (Gary Wasnick 1997).
