Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE HLADY (nee EWACZEWSKI) July 19, 1917 - July 23, 2005 It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our Rose at the age of 88. Rosy will be sadly missed by her husband Walter; son Anthony (Maureen), grandchildren, Kevin and Courtney; grandchildren, Krystle and James and their mother Donna, and sisters, Sophie Starko and Jay Bradley. She was predeceased by parents, Anthony and Mary Ewaczewski; sisters, Olga Rospad, Elizabeth Pidlipny; brother William Ewaczewski, and niece Diane Waisboim. Rose was born in Lac du Bonnet and grew up in Dauphin, MB. Her banking career took her to Atikokan, ON where she met Walter. They married in Thunder Bay October 1, 1956. In 1966 the family moved to Winnipeg. Rose worked at Jack Andrews Pharmacy until her retirement. Rose was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. She enjoyed preparing traditional Ukrainian food and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bingo, word puzzles and visiting with her friends and neighbours. In their retirement, she and Walter enjoyed many trips to various casinos and visiting their son Anthony and his family. The family would like to thank the many home care workers and palliative care nurse Chris Carlyle for their assistance and compassion. Prayers will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn, interment to follow.
