Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER SOKOLOSKI With heavy hearts and deepest sorrow the family of Peter Sokoloski announces his passing at the Selkirk Betel on July 26, 2005 at the age of 91. Dad was born in Meleb, MB on May 12, 1914 and married Josephine on November 19, 1938. They lived on the family farm with their two eldest daughters until moving onto their own farm in the fall of 1944. Dad loved the outdoors and enjoyed nature, his garden and yard which he took great pride in. His memory will always be cherished by his family, Mary Drebit of Rennie, MB, Jean (Peter) Schramke, Pat (Dennis) Demchuk, both of Winnipeg, MB; his grandchildren, Sharon (John) Rodgers, Rosilyn (Bruce) Jensen, Gary Drebit, Donnalee (Donnie) Naismith, Charlene (Nick) Sheils, Darrin Schramke and Cindy, Jeffrey and Stacey Demchuk; four great-grandsons, Greg (Vanessa) Jensen, Matthew Jensen, Bryan and Jamie Rodgers; one great-great-grandson Connor Jensen; his brothers, Alec (Anne), Paul (Ruth) and sister-in-law Kay Sokolowski as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his wife Josephine on October 30, 1976; parents, Theodore and Katherine; brothers, Nick, Mike and Steve; sisters-in-law, Maisie and Nellie; and son-in-law Walter. Prayers will be held Thursday, July 28, at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB. Divine Liturgy will be held Friday, July 29 at 10:30 a.m. in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Meleb, with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in the Meleb Community Cemetery. In lieu if flowers, donations in Dad's memory can be made to the Gimli Healing Garden, Box 250, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. It broke our hearts to lose you Only God knows the reason why But, Dad, you did not go alone For part of us went with you The day God called you home Though your smile is gone forever And your hands we cannot touch We will never lose the memory Of a Dad we love so much.
