Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL TODERENCHUK September 4, 1926 - July 26, 2005 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Paul Toderenchuk on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 with his family by his side. Paul was predeceased by his father Peter, mother Nettie and sister Jenny. Paul's memories will be forever cherished by his beloved wife of 43 years Elaine; daughters, Paula (Mark) and Penny; his precious grandchildren, Jesse, Taylor, Amora, and Adello. He is also survived by his sister Mary and brother Tod James of Toronto; sisters-in-law, Gladys (Gilles), Hilda, Lynda (Rudy); brothers-in-law, Mark (Seretha), Wade, Florian (Myrtle) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Paul lived his whole life in Winnipeg. He attended St. Nicholas School. He met his wife Elaine in Swan River, MB and was married for 43 years. He worked for the City of Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Department until he had to retire in 1990 due to illness. Paul had many hobbies he enjoyed, especially his love for photography. He was a collector, an active gardener, a great artist, loved to travel, taking rides to Gimli with his family, being outdoors, sitting with Elaine on their patio. He loved sports, going to football games and kept scrapbooks of all his favourite teams. Paul was a great family historian. He captured many memories with pictures and used to love to show us slide shows and tell stories about his life, what he saw in his travels and all his dreams for the future. He worked hard all his life to make a good life for himself and his family. Paul's door was always open to family and friends the more, the merrier he would say. Paul was a proud, strong man. Taking his wife for a Sunday drive and going out for something to eat was another one of Paul's favourite things to do. Spending time with his grandchildren was very precious to Paul. They all loved their grandpa. Paul had a great sense of humour, always trying to lighten the moment with jokes or kind words. Paul used to enjoy playing the harmonica too. He loved listening to music, especially his brother's CD. Paul was a good listener if you needed someone to talk to and his warm caring hands were there to hold whenever we needed his strength. Dad enjoyed visiting his daughter Penny in Vancouver for the last nine years. He loved going to Horseshoe Bay and taking numerous pictures as well as visiting his grandchildren. Dad would drop by for tea whenever he had time. His presence gave us all strength. Always supportive of his family he made sure Elaine was okay after her heart surgery last year in Toronto. Paul was given a special gift last year, he had the chance to spend time with his brother Tod from Toronto. A special thank-you to Uncle Tod, you were like an angel looking out for Paul and Elaine last year. Special thanks to Home Care Aide Mike, Paul's friend Ed Wood, all our family and friends, nurses, doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital and also special thanks to all the nurses, doctors and staff at the Riverview Health Centre for all their compassionate care. Paul tried hard to fight the complications of cancer and diabetes for years, never giving in to the disease. We always stood beside him, knowing he fought hard. We feel very blessed to have had such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and best friend in our lives. The impression he has left in our hearts and souls we will never forget. Prayers will be held on Friday, July 29 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave. with a Basilian Father presiding. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Elevator Fund. We love you, Dad!
