NINA ANNIE (MAYERS) BESSETTE After an eight year battle with cancer, Nina was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the age of 84 years. Left to mourn her passing are her two brothers, Walter and Daniel Mayers (Vera); her nieces, Victoria Barrs (Ron), Cheryl Skilnick (Allen), Patricia Mayers and Carole Stewart; her nephews, Don Mayers (Carole) and Wayne Mayers (Linda); numerous grandnieces and nephews; as well as her dear faithful friends, Gerald and Elsie Bessette, Patsy and Stanley Valenta, Betty Yellowega, Gladys Antoniuk, Pat Taylor, Helen Little, Margaret Lussier, Julie Lammen, Olive Bailey and daughter Sharon; among many others. Cremation has taken place. Private prayers and inurnment services were held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, yesterday, July 29, where she was laid to rest beside her constant companion, Edgar Bessette. Nina wished to thank Dr. A. Schroeder and the Palliative Homecare aides and nurses, especially Chris, for their wonderful care. Also, a special thanks to Pastor James Scholz for his support and prayers. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.

  • Gerry and Elsie, The passing of Nina was a shock. She was a dear friend. Nina and I kept in touch. We reminisced of all the good times we had with her and Uncle Edgar. Her favourite song was 'Yellow Bird' I knew that Nina went through some bad times but she never let on more than that. Gerry and Elsie, I wanted to share this with you.
