Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT ROSS (ROB) TURNER After an amazing journey through life, Robert Ross (Rob) Turner, formerly of Carroll and Neepawa, died quietly in his sleep at Central Park Lodge, Brandon, July 28, 2005. Rob is survived by his son, Dr. Bob (Joan) Turner of Edmonton and their children, Emily and Simon; and by his daughter, Jane MacKeen of Winnipeg and her boys , Mark, Ross, Fraser and Robbie. Rob is also survived by his sister Alice (Ted) Dent of Dauphin. Predeceasing him were his wife, Clem (Fraser); his parents, Andrew and Mabel; his sister, Helen (Vic) Johnson of Winnipeg and his brother, Billy (Muriel) Turner of Carroll. Rob was born April 21, 1911 at Hillcrest Farm, near Carroll. He farmed with his father and bought grain before joining the RCAF in 1940. From 1940 to 1945, he was a radar operator in Scotland and England. Rob and Clem married in 1947 and operated Turfrae farm, near Carroll, before moving to Neepawa in 1957. Rob enjoyed his work with the VLA and FCC, helping farmers create viable farm operations. He retired in Brandon and continued to enjoy a rewarding life which included golf, curling, travel and family get-togethers. Turfrae farm continued to be his prime interest and he followed the progress of new farming practices avidly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2 at Central United Church, 327- 8th St., Brandon with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. Pallbearers will be his six grandchildren. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church. Later that day, at approximately 2:00 p.m. at the Neepawa Cemetery, Rob will be laid to rest beside Clem. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Central United Church, 327-8th St., Brandon, MB R7A 3X5 or to World Vision Canada, Unit 34 - 62 Scurfield Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3Y 1M5. Rob's family are very appreciative of the superb care provided by the staff at Central Park Lodge. Rob felt he was at home with friends. He was also blessed with regular visits by Jack Graham and Norma Wiebe.
