Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(BEATRICE) MARY RIEL (nee NORRIS) Peacefully at River East Personal Care Home. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary on July 28, 2005 at 84 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Arthur John Riel and wife Debby of Winnipeg and daughter Carol-Anne Buchholz and husband Glen of Winnipeg; four grandchildren, Jeff and Julien Riel, Mark and Shaunna Buchholz; sister Audrey Jones of Warrenton, Virginia; sister-in-law Joyce Norris of Vancouver, BC; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Annie and Fredrick Norris; husband Roland (Bud) Riel; brother Jack Norris; sister Kay McDonald. After growing up in Elkhorn, Mary moved to Winnipeg and attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1947. After graduation she was hired at Pharmacie Leclerc (St. Boniface Clinic) and was working there when she married Bud and began raising a family. Mary continued working, while raising Arthur and Carol-Anne, she worked at several pharmacies in and around Winnipeg throughout her 42 years as a professional and enjoyed her occupation, only ceasing when her body would no longer enable her to continue. She enjoyed gardening, music and was a member of the choir at Regents Park United Church for several years, and later North Kildonan United Church. Mary also enjoyed curling and weekly get-togethers with her bridge club. Family was important to Mary and she valued the time (brief as it was) spent with her grandchildren. She also loved to travel, especially to visit with her brother, sisters or one of her many cousins. Many thanks to all the staff of Hope Haven, River East Personal Care Home. A celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road, with Pastor Brad Schollenberg officiating. On behalf of the Champagne family who worked with Mary at Leclerc's Pharmacy, 354 Marion St. many years ago, when we were all young, doing delivery and working at the pharmacy, our sincere condolences to our good friend Mary Norris-Riel Family. Ed, Gerry, Art. Andy, Jeannine, Marcel, Henry, yes, seven of nine in our family worked at Leclerc's. We also knew your father, Bud Riel well, as we lived close by on Des-Meuron Street. Love to all, Ed Champagne (for the Champagne family) P.S. Brother Andy who called from Winnipeg, said he recognized her by the grad photo she had given us, and still have! - Posted by: Edouard Champagne (Co-Worker) on: Jul 31, 2005
