Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET CHARLENE NIXON Margaret Charlene Nixon, Charlene to her friends, died peacefully at her home in San Antonio, Texas in the evening of June 22, 2005. Charlene was born on December 22, 1953, in Winnipeg, MB, Canada and moved with her family to the United States in her early years. She graduated from Michael Reese Medical Center, Department of Nursing Services in Chicago, Illinois on June 29, 1975. Charlene married May 29, 1976 and moved to San Salvador, El Salvador where she raised her family and worked as a RN for the American Embassy. Charlene was fluent in Spanish as well as English. She returned to the United States in 1993 settling in San Antonio. She continued to work in the nursing profession until earlier this year. Charlene is the daughter of Patricia Dickson Bjarnarson and the late Valdimar Wallace Bjarnarson. She is survived by her two children, Carlos Roberto and Cristina Margaret Nixon of San Antonio, TX; her mother Patricia; and her three sisters, Shauna TecleMariam lives in Puyallup, WA, Nina Louis lives in Alsip, IL, Marilyn Dempsey lives in Easton, CT and their respective families. Charlene will be interred with her father near her birthplace on Saturday, August 6. The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church in Langruth and a coffee will follow the service. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations are made to the Cancer Treatment and Research Centre, whose doctors and staff helped her brave a good fight.
