Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVALDIMAR WALLACE BJARNARSON (WALLY) Valdimar Wallace Bjarnarson, Wally to his friends, passed away on February 7, 2005. Wally was the third child of Valdimar and Margaret Bjarnarson. He graduated from the University of Manitoba and got his master at Texas A M. Wally married Pat Dickson. They raised four daughters. Wally left behind 14 grandchildren, also. Wally developed a new strain of wheat that could be grown in Northern Manitoba. An article was written about the pioneer researcher, shortly after that Wally took his family and moved to the United States. Wally worked in the Beer Industry for the rest of his career. When Wally retired, he became active in many groups. He was a Master Gardener, Shriner and Elk member. He was very active in his church. Wally loved the garden. His was one of the best around always. Wally loved having people around and had many friends. Once you met him, you became his friend. Wally is survived by his sister June Robertshaw of Kelowna, BC; his wife Pat; and his three daughters and their families, Shauna TecleMariam lives in Puyallup, WA, Nina Louis lives in Alsip, IL and Marilyn Dempsey lives in Easton, CT. Wally will be interred with his oldest daughter Charlene on Saturday, August 6 at Big Point Cemetery, Langruth. The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Grace Lutheran Church, Langruth. A coffee will be served immediately following. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations are made to a Cancer Treatment and Research Center, whose staff and doctors helped him fight many cancers.
