MIKE SENKOWSKI Peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2005, Mike Senkowski, of Alonsa, passed away at the Neepawa General Hospital at the age of 75 years. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pauline; children Doreen and Larry Wutzke of Glenella, MB, Marlene and Rae Armit of Winnipeg, MB, David and Carol Senkowski of Alonsa, MB and Charlene and Trevas Mozdzen of Alonsa, MB; grandchildren Christopher, Matthew, Michelle (Mark) Janzen, Megan, Ian, Ryan, Hayley, Kimberly, Dylan, Drew and Dustin; sister Josie Karabin; brother Peter Chikowski; sisters in law Effie (John) Szymesko and Eleanor (Erle) Stone; brothers in law Sam (Ann) Zdan, Tom Zdan, Ed (Sherri-Ann) Zdan and Mike Zdan as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to him. Mike was predeceased by his parents Marie and Joseph Senkowski; step mother Rosie; sisters Mary, Molly, Sadie; brother Bill and parents in law Nellie and John Zdan. Mike was born on April 18, 1930 in Alonsa, MB. He lived all of his life on the family farm, supplementing his income with carpentry and a short stint with road construction. Mike enjoyed life to the fullest, anything that involved friends and family; hunting, sports, cards, games or work, he was always ready and willing. A sense of fun and humor that endured through a dehabilitating accident and five years in a wheelchair, the light in his eyes never dimmed. He always had a pleasant or humorous comment ready. Mike's outlook was If something needed doing, for the community, for a friend, or at home, why talk about it, do it . A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Neepawa General Hospital, Health Science Centre in Winnipeg and the Alonsa home care workers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neepawa General Hospital, 500 Hospital St., Neepawa, MB R0J 1H0 or to a charity or your choice. Prayers will be held at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Alonsa on Sunday, July 31 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Alonsa Community Centre on Monday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Michael Tkachuk as celebrant. Interment to follow at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Dobchuk-Anderson Funeral Home of McCreary is in care of arrangements. Telephone 835-2004.
