BOHDAN LAPKA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bohdan Lapka, on July 27, 2005, at Concordia Hospital, at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his wife Myrtle, father Michael, mother Victoria, brother Max, and sister Olga Grose. He is survived by brothers, Joe (Carol), Michael (Janet); sisters, Mary (Mike), Helen, Susie, Lovey (Wally), and Doreen. Bohdan was born in Poplarfield, MB on April 25, 1924, He left home at an early age to work in various mining and logging camps in Ontario, eventually returning to Poplarfield to farm the original homestead. In the early 60s he left the farm and moved to Winnipeg where he worked in the plastering trade. In 1962 he met and married Myrtle, his wife of 33 years. In 1969 he went to work for the City of Winnipeg in the Water Works Department, until his retirement in 1989. Bud was an avid outdoors person who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and picking stones on the farm. The family would like to extend special thanks to John Pernerowski, who valued his friendship and kept a watchful eye over him in his retirement years. Prayers will be held on Monday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Very Rev. John Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bohdan's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R2G 3N3. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
