CAROLINE ANN MACKAY (KONIAZ) Peacefully on July 28, 2005 at Grace General Hospital at the age of 82 Caroline Ann MacKay passed away. Caroline was born May 28, 1923, in Brooklands, MB. She was predeceased by her husband James and son Henry; sisters, Anne Favell and Mary Burdy. She leaves to mourn her children, Daniel, Roderick, David, Brian and wife Judy, Adele and husband Jorge. She leaves to mourn her sister Bertha and husband Bill; brothers, Tony and Joe; brother-in-law John and wife Audrey; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Caroline will be remembered by her many friends and neighbours. She was raised in Brooklands, met and married James and together they raised six children. Caroline enjoyed being a homemaker, raising and caring for her family. She found pleasure in gardening, crocheting, knitting and in later years surrounded herself with an elaborate flower garden. Leisure time was spent at the family cabin in Grand Marais and she enjoyed some travel adventures with her late husband. Great joy and comfort came from the family pets whom were constant companions. Sincere thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and Dr. Wayne Poon for their compassionate care. Thanks to the staff of 3 South at the Grace General Hospital for their kindness and care. Special thanks to Kristin and Blair for their warmth and companionship. Pallbearers are: Ross MacKay, Sandy Favell, Blair Darragh, Julius Rucki, Michael Rucki and Bradley Rucki. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Memory of Caroline to CancerCare Manitoba. Viewing will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Tuesday, August 2, 2005 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the chapel of the Glen Eden Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow. A gathering of family and friends will take place after the service.
