Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNELLIE MCKAY (nee SCUTCHINGS) Suddenly on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 Nellie McKay passed away at the Meadowood Nursing Home, St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her husband Reginald, daughter Patricia, son Don, three brothers, four sisters and son-in-law Bob Walker. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Betty Walker, sons, Bob (Donna) of Thunder Bay, ON, Fred (Margy) of Calgary, AB; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren including chosen Chloe from China and her sister-in-law, Janet Scutchings, plus many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Leslie, SK December 25, 1911 and spent many years in Headingley and St. James before retiring with her husband Reg to Calgary then to Vernon, BC. They returned to Winnipeg in 1998 and lived at Portsmouth Retirement residence. After her husband's passing in May, 2001, her health deteriorated, mainly due to Arthritis. Mom was a hard worker, always putting her family first, even when she was not in good health. The family's well-being was always a concern to her. Thank you, mom, for all your caring and love. Cremation has taken place and a family service will be held. Nellie will be laid to rest with her husband Reginald at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. A special thank you to the staff at Portsmouth Residence, Home Care and Meadowood Homes for all your care and support given to mom, also to the many friends who were always concerned for her well-being. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6.
