Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBURTON LLOYD STINTON Passed away peacefully with his family by his side in Chilliwack General Hospital on Sunday, July 17, 2005 at 78 years of age. Burt was born in Winnipeg, MB, the son of Fred and Emily Stinton. During WWII, Burt served in the Armoured Corps. In 1946, he enrolled in the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the east coast until his retirement in 1970. Burt then returned to Winnipeg where he worked as Administrative Services Supervisor for Manitoba Pool Elevators until his second retirement in 1985. In 1999, he moved to Chilliwack, BC. Those who knew Burt will remember that he was an avid football fan as well as player and coach. He loyally supported the CFL throughout his life. Some of his favourite hobbies were gardening, ceramics, building model ships and beating any opponent at crib. Above all, he was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laura (nee Chesley); his daughter Barbara Henry (Dan) of Chilliwack, BC; his sister Velma Kinack of Winnipeg; and four step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held July 21 at Vedder View Cemetery in Chilliwack. Because of of Burt's love of animals, the family requests that donations be made to your local SPCA in lieu of flowers.
