FRIEDA MARGARET RIEDIGER July 31, 2005 DEAR LORD Put your arms around her Hold her in your tender care Make up to her for all she suffered And all she had to bear She went through so much in silence Her spirits didn't bend She faced her pain with courage Until the very end It broke our heart to lose her But she didn't go alone For part of us went with her The day God called her home It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Frieda Margaret Reidger on July 31, 2005 at the Boundary Trails Heath Centre. Mother was the eldest of six daughters born to Peter and Katherine Penner. She grew up in the Kitchener and Vineland, ON area. Mother and Dad were married in 1950. Mom was active in the church and community. She sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school, assisted in the MCC, and was president of the Church Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an active member of the Kinette Club and served as president. She actively supported Dad in his church work, in community activities, politics and business. She loved curling, golfing, walking and downhill skiing, while she was able. She loved to travel. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid bird watcher. Mother will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband of 55 years Abe Riediger, by her sons, Jim (Daneen), and their children, Christy and Ryan (Neta), and son Bailey, Jack (Beverly), and their children, Jenna, Erin, and Micheal. She is also survived by her sisters, Katherine (Ed) Unrau, Martha (Art) Derksen, brothers-in-law, John Koop, and Allen Ross, along with their families, her many friends, and relatives. She was predeceased by sisters, Lily and Betty, her parents and an infant sister. Frieda was a loving and caring mother. She treasured her family. She had a quiet elegance about her and a strong and courageous spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. A family graveside service will be held at a later date. A service to celebrate Frieda's life will be held on August 4 at the Westside Community Church with Rev. Russel Toews officiating. The family extends their thanks and express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, funeral director, friends, and relatives for their support and encouragement at this sad time. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to Tabor Fund Inc. or your favourite charity. Wiebe Funeral Chapel, Morden in care of arrangements 204-325-4755.

  • Dear Abe and family, Abe & I have fond memories of Freida. She was indeed an elegant lady with a great sense of humor and a loving heart. We enjoyed our friendship with both of you during the time we lived in Morden. You were great role models. You and your family are in our prayers. God bless and keep you.
