Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMYKOLA (NICK) WOLOSCHINIWSKY 1922 - 2005 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather (Dido) and brother on July 30, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 82. Mykola was born on May 8, 1922 in the farming village (celo) Lopushanka, county (povid) Turka, province (oblast) Lviv, Ukraine, along with younger sister Anastasia and older brother John (deceased). As a young man he worked on the farm until the age of 17 when he was taken away to work in the German labour camps during the Second World War. After the Allied Liberation he immigrated to England where he met and married our dear late mother Anna Chomiakewycz in 1950. There he worked in the textile industry and as a lathe operator in a machine shop. The family immigrated to Canada in 1960 where Mykola worked for 27 years with the City of Winnipeg Works and Operations Department until his retirement in 1987. Mykola belonged to The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; was a member of the Dumka choir, Canadian Ukrainian Institute Prosvita, and New Horizon Ukrainian Senior Citizens Club. He was a gentle, kind, good-natured man who enjoyed the summer, his flower garden and the company of friends. He took great pride in his grandchildren and loved to watch them partake in sports activities and Ukrainian dance. Left to cherish his memory are sons Peter, Stephen (Mary), beloved grandchildren Christa and Matthew, cousin Anastasia Horbatiuk and family, all of Winnipeg plus many relatives in the Ukraine and Australia. Dad was predeceased by Mom in 1968. Prayers (Panakhyda) will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 965 Boyd. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m Thursday, August 4 also at Blessed Virgin Mary Church with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Internment is to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mykola's memory to Canadian Ukrainian Institute Prosvita or a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT Korban Funeral Chapel 956-2193
