Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES JOHNSON September 4, 1917 - July 28, 2005 Peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2005, Charles Johnson passed away at home at the age of 87. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter Patricia; son-in-law Donald Stein; grandchildren, Donna, John, Patrick and great-grandchildren, Jake, Rhonda, Charles, William and Samantha. Charles grew up in Winnipeg where in 1939 he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. He was enrolled in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery from 1939 to 1945. After the war, he went on to work as a custodian from 1962 to 1982. During his retirement, he loved to travel to Hawaii every year. He also liked to go down to his cabin where he spent many summers. A private family service will be held on Thursday, August 4 at Glen Eden Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society.
