ELIZABETH (TESS) LOUISA JOHNSON (nee MORROW) With great sorrow we announce that suddenly and peacefully on July 31, 2005 at Deer Lodge Centre, Elizabeth passed away to be with her Lord. Elizabeth was born July 27, 1906 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. She immigrated to Canada in June 1920 with her mother, Ann, stepfather Peter Tweddle and older brother Matthew (George) Morrow. In June 1925 she married Albert Ernest Johnson. She was lovingly and faithfully by his side for 63 years, raising their three children Ernest, Judy and Eric. She was actively involved in their business and they enjoyed 26 years of retirement together. In 1984 they left their family home and were among the first residents of the newly built Lion's Place where she lived until December 1, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1988 and her son Ernest in 1993. She was a survivor and the last in her generation. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Leonard) Remple and their children, Shirley (Jonathan) Hill, Jill (John) Enns and Daniel Remple of Abbotsford, BC; son Eric (Carol) Johnson and their children, Jeff (Tammy), Grant (Shannon) of Winnipeg; daughter-in-law Louise (Ernest) Johnson and their children, Paul (Cynthia), Bruce (Theresa), Pamela (Goldie) Tetlock, Craig (Brenda) of Winnipeg; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always young in spirit and was planning ahead right till the moment she passed away, even planning a trip to Lake of the Woods for the weekend of August 6 and 7 to continue celebrating her 99th birthday. She will be sadly missed but she is at rest. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the wonderful staff at Deer Lodge Centre, 3 south, especially Kelly who was with her during her final moments. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Flowers gratefully declined.
