Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMONA BANTLE (nee STRIMBISKI) With her loving family by her side, Mona passed away on Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre after a prolonged illness. Mona Bantle was the beloved soul mate and spouse of Victor Bantle of 46 years. Mona is also survived by her son Robin (Candace); daughter Belinda (Alfred) Carboni; lifelong friends, Diana and Pauline and dear family friend Enid. Mona was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Joeseph and her sisters, Elizabeth, Joyce and Ruth. She is survived by her three sisters, Helen, Margaret and Sonia. Mona was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Caliento, MB, with her loving parents Anne and Joeseph Strimbiski. As a young women she attended teacher's college and taught school in rural Manitoba. She attended business college and worked for Massey Ferguson. Mona also enjoyed a successful career in real estate sales in both Ottawa and Winnipeg where she made many good friends and colleagues. She met her husband Victor and they were married in 1959 and enjoyed the first four years of their married life together living in England before returning to Canada. Their son Robin was born in England and daughter Belinda born in Ottawa. Mona was a true lady in every respect. She loved nature to the fullest and every animal and insect were hers to protect. She loved her garden and the all the birds and animals who visited them. Her sunroom was her haven where she would read and meditate. She was a perfect role model to her children passing the knowledge of life to them. She will be truly missed but her presence will last forever through her children, her beautiful home she created and her love of nature. Honouring Mona's wish, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. followed by a reception. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Dialysis Unit at Health Sciences Centre who for over four years cared for her with great compassion and professionalism along with the staff of Floor 4 GD and GA Wards at Health Sciences Centre for their care and attention over the years. Also special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and staff of the Cancer Care Unit and Grace Hospital, the Headingley First Responders and the MacDonald Ambulance staff for their quick and efficient responses to our calls. Special thanks also goes out to our loving neighbours Gary and Lois. In lieu of flowers it is Mona's wish that a donation be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. We love you dearly and miss you incredibly. Fly away little hummingbird. We'll all meet again. Your loving family.
